2 THE INFORMATION WE COLLECT & HOW WE USE IT
2.1 Personal data:
2.1.1 When you first sign-up with I Love Cashback we ask for your name, email address and your choice of payment method, PayPal or BACS. In addition, to help with security, we usually also capture your IP address.
2.1.2 Other personal information about you is then optional for you to provide, such as your date of birth, address and telephone number.
2.1.3 Registered users may update their account details online by following the relevant links from within their account area.
2.2 Sensitive personal data:
2.2.1 In some instances, we may also ask you for other sensitive personal information, for instance when obtaining and comparing insurance quotations from a retailer. This personal data may include information on your racial or ethnic origin, physical or mental health or condition, allegations of criminality, criminal convictions, or sentences for convictions. You will be given the opportunity when providing the information to consent explicitly for the information to be shared with us, or a retailer.
2.2.2 Site usage:
2.2.3 When you visit the Website we automatically log information about your movement through the Website. This could include how you got to the Website, your IP address and what you look at while on the Website.
2.3 Processing of your data:
2.3.1 When we refer to “retailers”, we mean sellers and suppliers of goods or services and other businesses that work with us (such as price and quote comparison services).
2.3.2 We will use your personal data to:
(a) deal with your inquiries and requests;
(b) provide and personalise our services;
(c) compile your profile;
(d) administer your membership record; and
(e) maintain information as a reference tool or general resource.

2.3.4 We also gather this information and statistics for the purposes of monitoring Website usage and may provide that aggregate information to third parties. These statistics will not include information that can be used to identify you.
2.3.5 We may pass your details on to the retailers or their agents for verification of transactions only and for fraud prevention measures. These details passed on will not be used for marketing or any other purposes.

2.3.11 We aim to be very flexible and transparent in the use of users’ details. If you wish your account to be deleted or amended in any way – or if you wish to prevent us from using your information for any purposes, either as initially stated or for any new purposes, then you may contact us as described in Paragraph 5 and we will endeavour to comply with your wishes.
2.3.12 If you feel that the Web not following its stated information policy, please inform us through our ‘Contact Us’ form as described in Paragraph 5.
2.3.13 When using the Website you may make your personal data available to other businesses that work with us, including retailers. While we have selected these businesses selected, it is your responsibility to ensure that you are happy to share your information with them.
3 COOKIES
3.1 When your web browser accesses a specific website such as ours, cookies (a type of small file) may, depending on your browser settings, be automatically stored on your computer’s hard drive.
3.2 How we use cookie information:
3.2.1 Cookies may be set by us, an affiliate network, or a retailer on both the Website and retailer sites. When you go through to make a purchase on a retailer’s site it’s the cookie that gives us the information to track your cashback. Specifically it tells us which retailer’s site you’ve clicked through to and when. If you’ve made a purchase the cookie tells us the time you made it and the cashback amount. In some cases it may also record the product (or type of product) purchased and the value of the purchase.
3.2.2 The cookie information allows us to calculate and allocate you the correct amount of cashback for your purchase. It also allows us to present tailored offers to you when you’re on the Website.
3.2.3 We also put all the cookie information together anonymously (so that your identity and personal details are not accessible) and use it for internal management purposes. We may share this information with current or prospective retailers as it helps in negotiating better cashback rates. This will always be done at an aggregate level and no personal data will ever be shared.
3.3 Managing your cookies:

4 SECURITY
4.1 We’re committed to protecting your personal information. All information that you provide to us is stored on secure servers and access to this database is restricted internally. While no computer system is completely secure, we believe the measures we use reduce the likelihood of security problems to a level appropriate to the type of data involved.
4.2 Access to your I Love Cashback account is password-protected for your privacy and security. Whilst we do our best to protect your personal information you also must protect yourself. What does this mean?
4.2.1 Keep your password or other access information secret.
4.2.2 Ensure no-one else uses the Website while your machine is “signed in” to it.
4.2.3 Make sure you sign out from your I Love Cashback account when not using it.
4.2.4 Ensure that you have up-to-date anti-virus and spyware software running on your PC.
5 EDITING YOUR ACCOUNT AND MAILING SETTINGS
5.1 We like to keep in touch with our account holders, so after you have signed up to I Love Cashback we’ll send you information about products or services provided by us or our partners that we think will be of interest to you.
5.2 Of course we know lots of emails can be annoying so we try to keep ours to a minimum. However, if you feel you’re getting too many or would like more you can change the settings in your account at any time. Each communication gives you the opportunity to opt out of receiving similar future communications in one click. You can review, change or correct your identity and email address information, and communicate with us generally by signing into your I Love Cashback account, going to the settings tab and choosing ‘Contact Us’.
5.3 Please note there are some communications that are an integral part of the I Love Cashback service and cannot be opted out of. This covers, amongst other things, changes to our service and your actual or potential transactions with retailers.
6 PRIVACY POLICIES FOR OTHER SITES
6.1 Whilst we promote lots of great offers and deals at I Love Cashback, the majority of the time you’ll make your actual purchase on the site of a retailer. Each retailer will have its own independent practices concerning users’ privacy. You should check their privacy terms to make sure you are happy with them.
7 ACCESS TO INFORMATION
7.1 The Data Protection Act 1998 gives you the right to access information held about you.
7.2 In accordance with that Act, we reserve the right to charge a small fee if you ask us to provide you with this information. Users may request to see any information that we hold on them. This may include purchase information, account totals, contact details and other information. Users may request this information via our contact page. There may be a small administration fee for using this service, which will be no more than £10.
8 CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY STATEMENT
8.1 This policy is correct as of 21st February 2011. Any material changes to it will be announced on the Website.
